The North Stars struggled against the Blizzard 9-4 in home game

The Breezy Point North Stars struggled against the Alexandria Blizzard allowing Logan Nelson to score a hat trick as Breezy Point crushed Alexandria 9-4 in a home game at Breezy Point Hockey Center in Breezy Point. In addition, Josh Martinez came up big, stopping 26 of 32 shots throughout the game. The Alexandria Blizzard took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Logan Nelson.

Erik Gadbois had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jordan Gibson delivered for his team with 2 assists. Luke Benson contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Peter Johnson chipped in with 2 assists.

In the first period, Benson opened the scoring for the Blizzard with a goal at 3:45 with a helper from his teammate Thompson. Skar netted a goal at 12:13 with helpers from Benson and Hermann. Maucieri finally put the North Stars on the board with a goal at 19:06 with assists from Flicek and Kram. Frerichs quickly followed with a goal at 19:45 with helpers from teammates Skar and Meister.

During the second period, Gadbois answered for Breezy Point with a goal at 0:26 with assists from his linemates, Tubbs and Gibson. Payne answered for Alexandria with a goal at 5:35 with helpers from his linemates, Nelson and Todd. Nelson deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:30 with assists from his linemates, Giorgio and Payne. Petroske answered for the North Stars with a goal at 15:09 with helpers from his linemates, Krueger and Fladebo. Skar answered for Alexandria with a goal at 17:24. Payne quickly followed with a goal at 17:57 with assists from Johnson and Meister.

In the third period, Nelson scored a goal at 0:51 with helpers from Skar and Johnson. Nelson put in a goal at 8:18 with assists from his linemates, Giorgio and Payne. Morin answered for the North Stars with a goal at 15:49 with helpers from Gadbois and Gibson.

This loss brings the Breezy Point North Stars’ record to (15-29-2-0).
