PLYMOUTH, Mich. – The North American 3 Hockey League, year-in and year-out, advances the very best players, to the next level. Part of this process involves the exposure for these players, by having them play in front of the North American Hockey League teams, as well as the many colleges that attend the NA3HL’s Top Prospects Showcase. The Breezy Point North Stars will have two of its top players on the ice at the end of the month for the NA3HL’s Top Prospects showcase, scheduled for Feb. 27 and 28 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
Here are the North Star players selected to this year’s Top Prospects showcase.
Alex Flicek, a second-year versatile 6-0 200 pound forward/Defenseman from Bismarck, North Dakota. Flicek is the team’s 3rd leading scorer this season, tallying 35 points in 40 games, including 14 goals. His ability to play both positions has made him an offensive threat and a solid defender, all season. Flicek will be playing on team Grey, for the Top Prospects, representing the West and Frontier Division.
Josh Maucieri, a speedy and slick shooting first-year 6-1 170 pound forward from Crosby, Minnesota. The Northern Lakes Lightning alumnus has lead the team goals scored this season, scoring a team lead and single season record 25 goals. His 44 points include 19 assists, in the 40 games played. Maucieri will be playing on the NA3 18U Top Prospects Red Team.
Each team will play two games on Tuesday, February 27th and one game on Wednesday, February 28th. Games will consist of three 17-minute periods, with a single ice cut in the middle of the 2nd period. All games will be streamed live on HockeyTV.
