During the first period, Irwin opened the scoring for the RiverWolves with a goal at 0:58 with a helper from defenseman Renter. Flicek quickly followed with a goal at 1:18 with helpers from his teammates Fladebo and Kram. Parisien deposited a goal at 11:26 with assists from his linemates, Gadbois and Hoyt. Petroske netted a goal at 14:44 with helpers from Krueger and Beltz. Maucieri scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:07 with assists from Brosnan and Petroske.
During the second, Irwin answered for Wausau with a goal at 8:59 with helpers from his linemates, Alfonso and Rukamp. Petroske quickly followed with a goal at 10:39 with assists from Flicek and Morin. Irwin answered for the RiverWolves with a goal at 13:06 with helpers from Renter and Hempel.
In the third, Hoyt answered for Breezy Point with a goal at 13:14 with assists from his linemates, Fladebo and Maucieri. Parisien deposited a goal at 19:59.
The North Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Ehrlich as he stopped 18 of the 21 shots he faced. Ehrlich’s counterpart, Baribeau, also had a big night, managing to stop 45 of 52, but ultimately fell short.
