Jared Fladebo scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Breezy Point North Stars defeat the the Willmar WarHawks 6-5 in a home game at Breezy Point Hockey Center in Breezy Point. As well, the Breezy Point North Stars' offense had a big night, peppering Willmar with 36 shots throughout the game.
Jared Fladebo chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Danny Wieber did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Peyton Bolstad delivered for his team with 2 goals and Brandon Holt contributed with 2 assists.
In the first, Gadbois opened the scoring for the North Stars with a goal at 5:53 with helpers from Hoyt and Morin. Cooper answered for the WarHawks with a goal at 9:12 with helpers from his linemates, Holt and Shea. Parisien answered for Breezy Point with a goal at 15:49 with assists from his teammates Fladebo and Brosnan. Bolstad quickly followed with a goal at 16:10 with helpers from his linemates, Dixon and Slagter.
In the second period, Dahle put in a goal at 1:09 with assists from his linemates, Bauman and Oelkers. Berkowitz scored a goal at 10:36 with a helper from fellow WarHawks forward Holt. Bolstad netted a goal at 13:19 with an assist from Dixon.
During the third, Wieber answered for Breezy Point with a goal at 0:21 with helpers from Maucieri and Flicek. Fladebo scored a goal at 8:09 with assists from Heckaman and Wieber. Petroske quickly followed with a goal at 8:20. Fladebo put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:43 with helpers from Brosnan and Morin.
The North Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Ehrlich’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 38 shots he faced. Ehrlich’s counterpart, Fry, also had a big night, managing to stop 30 of 36, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Breezy Point North Stars’ record to (13-18-2-0).
