Bronson Moore came up big, stopping 33 of 36 shots throughout the game. The Breezy Point North Stars took the lead early in the third on a goal from Josh Maucieri.
Larsen Tubbs delivered for his team with 2 goals and Danny Wieber had a busy night with 2 assists. Kirk Coppock contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Alex Nagel chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first, Morin opened the scoring for the North Stars with a goal at 12:09 with helpers from teammates Wieber and Gibson.
In the second, Tubbs netted a goal at 2:55 with helpers from his linemates, Kram and Langworthy. Borseth deposited a goal at 5:00 with assists from his linemates, Gadbois and Hoyt. Nagel finally put the Steel on the board with a goal at 16:36 with helpers from Coppock and Boysen.
In the third, Maucieri answered for Breezy Point with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 1:35. Mordini answered for New Ulm with a goal at 4:49 with assists from Wieben and Smith. Coppock netted a goal at 13:43 with helpers from his linemates, Smith and Nagel. Tubbs answered for the North Stars with a goal at 19:11 with assists from Wieber and Krueger.
Breezy Point’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Moore’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 36 shots he faced. Moore’s counterpart, Beilenberg, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 31, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Breezy Point North Stars’ record to (8-12-2-0).
