The Breezy Point North Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the La Crosse Freeze with 36 shots throughout the game. The Breezy Point North Stars took the lead late in the third on a goal from Austin Langworthy.
During the first period, Maucieri opened the scoring for Breezy Point with a goal at 15:56 with a helper from defenseman Heckaman. Flicek put in a goal at 19:28.
In the second, Lackey finally put the Freeze on the board with a goal at 13:14 with assists from his linemates, Magnavite and Ziegelbein.
In the third, Langworthy answered for the North Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:28 with helpers from his linemates, Borseth and Hoyt. Kitchen deposited a goal at 19:01. Poellinger quickly followed with a goal at 19:43 with assists from De Schepper and Francois.
Breezy Point’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Ehrlich as he stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced. Ehrlich’s counterpart, Graves, also had a big night, managing to stop 32 of 36, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Breezy Point North Stars’ record to (6-9-0-0).
