Breezy Point forward Sabina makes NCAA commitment

The Breezy Point North Stars of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward and captain Tristyn Sabina has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Saint John’s University in the MIAC.
Sabina, 21, just completed his first season playing in the NA3HL and fourth season overall playing junior hockey. The native of Kansas City, Missouri, is coming off a very good season with the North Stars in the NA3HL. In 43 regular season games this past season, Sabina (5’9/170) had 44 points (22 goals, 22 assists).
Sabina was also selected to and played in the 2017 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the White team, where he had five points in three games played.
During the 2012-13 season, Sabina played in the NAPHL for the Omaha AAA 16U team.
“I’m very excited to get an opportunity to commit to such a prestigious school, both in education and hockey. It showed me that with dedication, hard work and belief in a coaching staff, good things truly come your way. I truly am thankful for everyone who has helped me and impacted my journey so far to get me to this point. I look forward to prove myself at the next level. Go Johnnies,” said Sabina.
“We are very excited as a program for our captain Tristyn Sabina to make this jump to Saint John’s University. He has displayed the discipline, poise and hard work it takes to get to a program such as Saint John’s and we are proud of his work to do so. He is an outstanding two-way forward that is very gritty all areas of the rink, I look forward seeing him translate that to the NCAA level. We wish Tristyn the best of luck on the next stop of his career as a Johnnie,” said Breezy Point head coach Jon Jonasson.
