The Breezy Point North Stars, proud members of the NA3HL, are excited to announce that defensemen Zach Taylor has committed to play NCAA Division III collegiate hockey for Hamline University of the MIAC.
Taylor (5’10/165) spent the beginning of the 2016-2017 season with MN Magicians and Northeast Generals, of the NAHL. The skilled defensive minded native from Mahtomedi, MN finished the season with the North Stars and appeared in 16 games, to round out his junior career.
“I’m excited to start the next chapter in my hockey, as well as begin my education at Hamline University,” said Taylor. “I would like to thank ALL my coaches and teammates, that have helped me achieve my goal of playing college hockey and would also like to thank coach Jon Jonasson and staff at Breezy Point, for the opportunity to finish my junior career, with the North Stars,” added Taylor.
“I have had the opportunity to get to know Zach for the last 2 years and I’m excited to see he has found a great home, for the next 4 years, playing NCAA hockey,” said coach Jon Jonasson. “Zach is a very skilled two-way defender, that will do very well.” “As a program, we are proud of Zach and look forward to more players like him, that will dedicate themselves and exhibit the type of work ethic, that it takes to achieve the same goals of playing college hockey,” continued Jonasson.
The North Stars would like to thank Zach for his hard work and dedication with the organization and wish him the best, as a Hamline Piper.
