Stars make it 10 in a row, with 5-2 Win over the Blizzard.

Saturday night saw two Blizzards, roll in to Breezy Point.  The first was a 16 inch dumping of snow.  The second, was the second meeting between the North Stars and the Alexandria Blizzard.  The Stars came out of the gates fast, in front of a crowd of about 400 snow drift battling fans.   North Stars scored two in the first period of play, off the sticks of Alex Flicek and Matt Krasny, with assists going to Nick Blanchette, Tyler Larwood and Flicek.  The second period was all Stars, as Blanchette, Cody Butcher and Wyatt Stotts all tallied goals, while Stotts and Higgins assisted on Blanchette’s and Flicek, assisted on Butcher’s goal, to round out period. In the 3rd period, the Blizzard tried a comeback. They scored two goals, but that’s all they would put together, as the North Stars’ Magnus Lindhe (33 of35 saves) stayed strong in goal, for the rest of the game.

The win for North Stars, has the streak at 10 wins, going into Granite City next Wednesday.
