Breezy Point, MN – The Breezy Point North Stars had their first ever signing in the North American Hockey League this past week as forward Ryan Mezera inked with the Bismark Bobcats.

"When I was hired in late summer of 2014, my first call was to Ryan Mezera," said North Stars' head coach Jeff Worlton.  "I was able to sign Ryan to a NA3HL tender, and he came to Breezy Point from Team Wisconsin/Wisconsin High School.  I knew he was my type of player, as Ryan plays both ends of the rink, is willing to block shots, highly competitive, and will do anything to help his team win.  The Breezy Point staff knew this day would be coming, when we would lose Ryan to the NAHL.  I could not be happier for him, and we wish him the best of luck."

This season for the North Stars, the Mequon. MN native put in 20 goals and assisted 15 others in 40 games played.  Mezera was selected to Team West at the Top Prospects Tournament and picked up an assist in two games.

"I was excited to choose the Bismark Bobcats this weekend in signing the tender agreement," said Mezera.  "I had been talking with the coaching staff throughout the season, and attended there pre-draft camp in Minnesota.  I had a good time skating with some returners from last year's team. I visited Bismark's facilities this year and enjoyed the team. The coaches were also very welcoming and helpful; I am excited to potentially be a part of a great program. I would like to thank everyone involved with the Breezy Point North Stars who have helped me succeed this season.  My teammates were awesome, and I enjoyed every day on and off the ice.  I would also like to thank the coaching staff for the great work done, day in and day out. The atmosphere at games and events related to the team was always top notch, and I learned so much during my time spent in Breezy Point."
